Overview

For 2015, the Kia Forte is carried over from 2014 with some gains in fuel economy. For 2014 Kia Forte was redesigned. The Forte redesign was extensive and unique for the segment.

Driving Impression

The SX comes with a potent 201-hp turbocharged 1.6-liter engine, which makes driving the SX an exhilarating experience. The SX coupe and is one of the strongest engines you’ll find in its segment.

The slick-shifting six-speed manual is fun and adds to making the drive a sports car experience.

The Forte’s suspension is firm and the car handles well in the city or on the highway.

The interior of the Forte SX Koup looks & feels upscale with the use of quality materials and highlighted with every imaginable type of technology. The new Kia Forte has a handsome cabin with quality materials normally found in premium-brand compacts.

The seats are very comfortable and hold you firmly in place. The rear seats have are comfortable and any 6’ can easily sit in the back seat.

The two-door Koup is practical, with a 13.3-cubic-foot trunk that rivals many compact sedans.

Driving Impression

The fierce sound of the 2015 Lexus RC F’s V8 is unbelievable and when you push down on the accelerator you feel as if you are in a race car. The acceleration can push you back in your seat in an instant. The motor is mated to an eight-speed automatic, which is capable of impressive upshifts and downshifts. The suspension is firm and you have a sense you are driving a high-performance car. Handling on the RC F is superlative and the car handles just like a sports car.

Under the Hood

The 2015 Lexus RC F comes with a 5.0-liter V8 generating 467 hp and 389 pound-feet of torque.

The RC 350F is capable of 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds.

The EPA estimates the Lexus RC F will deliver 19 mpg combined (16 city/25 highway).

Inside

The 2015 Lexus RC F’s interior uses high-quality materials. The front seats are supportive and are ultra comfortable. The rear seats are tight for legroom and are OK for kids or cargo. Headroom isn’t great for guests over 6’.

The audio and climate controls are easy to use and continue with sporty vibe of the vehicle.

I don’t like the touchpad controller that comes with the navigation system as I find it very cumbersome to operate.

The RC F’s trunk provides 10.1 cubic feet of capacity, which is enough to hold your groceries.

My test drive had the Premium package, which included an active rear spoiler, heated and ventilated front seats, carbon-fiber interior trim, automatic wipers, auto-dimming side mirrors and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

Outside

My test drive RC 350F Sport was Ultrasonic Blue Mica paint. Whether parked, stopped at a traffic light or just driving down the road this car turned heads. The expected Lexus DNA is seen in the large spindle grille, which in the F Sport trim is mesh with chrome trim. The aggressive front is highlighted with triangular headlights with check-mark LED running lights below them. The 19-inch F Sport wheels highlight the unique design.

Driving Impression

For 2016 the Sorento has improved the suspension, which makes the ride is more comfortable and composed. My test drive had the optional 19-inch wheels, which made the ride over rough pavement very smooth.

Sorento SXL’s steering was responsive and made driving pleasurable.

The Kia’s visibility was excellent the interior at high speeds was very quiet.

Under the Hood

The drivetrain is a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, which develops 290-horsepower with a smooth-shifting six-speed automatic. My test drive had all-time All-Wheel Drive, which was a pleasure to drive. The Sorento can do 0- 60 mph in about 7 seconds.

The interior of the Sorento SXL has a long list of features like the 8-inch touch screen Navigation, blind-spot monitoring, dual-zone climate control and ventilated front seats, full panoramic glass sunroof and hands free smart power lift tailgate.

My test drive had the optional SXL Technology package, which comes with Xenon HID Headlamps, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Electronic Parking Brake, Surround View Monitor, and Radar Guided Smart Cruise Control.

Sorento interior is highlighted with soft-touch materials with the use of upscale textures on its dash and doors. The Sorento has a lot of headroom and legroom for 7 passengers.

The Hyundai Santa Fe V6 accelerates with ease and is smooth and quiet.

Hyundai Santa Fe has excellent & refined suspension and steering system. The vehicle handled well in any driving condition and for a large vehicle was fun to drive.

Under the Hood

Powering the Santa Fe is a 3.3-liter V6 engine that produces 290 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque. My test drive came equipped with All-wheel drive.

EPA estimates are 20 mpg combined (18 city/24 highway) with AWD, which I matched when test-driving for over a week.

Inside

The 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe has and unbelievable interior, which is highlighted with high-quality materials, excellent placement of controls and a spacious interior. The touchscreen menus and functions are intuitive and easy to use.

The front seats are comfortable, with enough adjustments to accommodate drivers of all sizes. Second-row passengers have plenty of head- and legroom and the panoramic sunroof is the largest one I’ve seen. The third-row seat has easy access and can accommodate kids or teens.

Cargo and luggage space can accommodate up to 41 cubic feet of cargo behind the second row of seats. With the second row folded, that figure increases to 80 cubic feet

The 2015 Lexus GS 350 has a good balance of comfort and sporty performance when driving at any speed. The ride is smooth on the road and the interior is very quiet.

On the road, the GS 350 Sport is easy to handle and has a feels like a high performance vehicle. My test drive had the F Sport package that increased road holding and was fun to drive.

Under the Hood

Powering the 2015 Lexus GS 350 Sport was a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 306 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. My test drive had AWD that came with a six-speed. Automatic transmission.

The GS is capable of 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds and averaged 21 mpg (19 city/26 highway).

Inside

The 2015 GS 350 has a well-crafted interior, which uses high quality materials. Highlighting the interior is supple leather and attractive wood /aluminum trim. The front seats provide plenty of support and are very comfortable. The F Sport package comes with adjustable side bolsters and the rear seats have enough head- and legroom for two adults.

New for 2015 is an upgraded screen included with the navigation system that gives the driver the ability to view and control up to three systems via a triple split screen.

Cargo capacity is 14.1 cubic feet of capacity and there is a center trunk pass-through for larger objects.

Driving Impression

Driving the Sedona is effortless with excellent steering and great maneuverability. The 276-hp 3.3-liter V-6 delivers plenty of power to make the driving experience pleasurable. My Sedona SXL, which has an EPA fuel economy of 17 city and 22 highway.

Acceleration is acceptable for a minivan, which is capable of 0- 60 mph in 7.4 seconds. Handling for this vehicle was good for a vehicle it’s size.

The Sedona comes with a 3.3-liter V-6, which has fuel economy of 17 city and 22 highway. The Engine is powerful enough to move this large vehicle at a respectable pace.

Inside

The interior is well laid out and the quality of materials in definitely upscale in look and feel. The comfortable seats were two-tone leather seats, which were supportive. The dash and gauges are easy to read and the radio and HVAC controls are simple and intuitive There is plenty of room for any size of driver and passenger.

The 2015 Toyota Prius V is very stable on the road at any speed and the ride is smooth and very comfortable. The Prius V is easy to maneuver on the road and a fun vehicle to drive. Acceleration is adequate and has exceptional fuel economy.

Under the Hood

A 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors and a battery pack power the 2015 Prius V. Combined output is 134 horsepower. The Prius V has a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The Prius V has a 0- 60 mph in 10.3 seconds with a 44-city/40 highway or 42-MPG average.

Inside

The Prius V’s interior is highlighted with large controls, which are clearly marked and easy to use. The shift lever is placed within easy reach and there are plenty of storage compartments within the cabin.

There’ are many tech amenities like the smartphone app integration system

The split-folding rear seat reclines and slides fore and aft, with an expansive cargo capacity. The Prius V provides good headroom for taller passengers. Luggage capacity behind the rear seats is 34.3 cubic feet. Total cargo capacity is 67.3 cubic feet available with the rear seats down.

Driving the 2015 Lexus ES 350 is an exceptional driving experience that is highlighted with a powerful V6 engine. The motor is both smooth and responsive. The ES350 glides over bumps in the road without even noticing them. The steering is very responsive for a larger sedan.

The 2015 Lexus ES 350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 268 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. The ES350 is FWD and mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The ES 350 is capable of 0- 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 21city/31 highway for an average of 24 MPG.

Inside

The 2015 Lexus ES 350′ interior is as modern and stylish as the exterior. The analog clock located in the center stack is unique and timeless. The leather materials used in the cabin are elegant and the build quality is excellent.

The climate controls and the upgraded Lexus Remote Touch system are both easy to use.

Interior space is plentiful and a 6-footers will be comfortable in the front seats. Rear-seat legroom is impressive and the trunk holds an impressive 15.2 cubic feet of space.
