Driving Impression

The Lexus GS 450h handles extremely well and you feel like you are driving a sports car. Acceleration was exhilarating and the GS was very responsive to any maneuver I put it through.

Under the Hood

The GS 45oh has a 147-kilowatt motor integrated with the regular gas motor.

The GS 450h has a gasoline-electric hybrid motor. The GS 450h is RWD and has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, which produces 286 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque.

Inside

The interior of the GS exurbs luxury and is very attractive with every creature feature imaginable. The GS has a steering wheel, which automatically lifts and retracts when you turn off the car.

One of the highlights of the GS is the beautiful bamboo trim, which highlights the interior.

The 12.3-inch screen highlights the center stack, which is easy to read.

The GS 450h had a Mark Levinson audio system, which delivers superb sound with 835- watt amp.

Highlighting the GS 450h is an automatic setting for the heated and cooled seats. When you set on automatic, the temperature setting activates the heating or cooling.

Outside

The exterior design is not as unique as I found as the interior, which is pleasant but not ground breaking. The spindle grille highlights the front end, but I found the rear end design lackluster. The shape of the GS 450h has large greenhouse, and rounded roofline and gives the car a sedate look.

Summary

Buyers looking for a high end highbred should definitely visit their local Lexus dealer for a test drive.

The 2014 V6 has more power, but it’s still not as much fun to drive as the other competitor’s with V6s and turbocharged four-cylinder engines found in rival models.

The 2014 Outlander has a comfortable ride and handling is OK. The Outlander is lacking a sporty feel and handling. My biggest single complaint is the sound of the doors when you slam them , which is a very tinny noise.

Under the Hood

Under the GT’s hood is a 3.0-liter V6 that produces 224 hp and 215 lb-ft of torque, which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

With the 3.0-liter V6, the Outlander’s fuel economy is 20 City /28 Highway / and 23 overall.

The 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander interior has been redesigned using nicer materials than its predecessor.

Front and rear seats are comfortable and have a lot of legroom. The second-row seats can slide fore and aft and recline. The third-row seat are only suited for occasional use by small kids.

The outlander has 34.2 cubic feet of cargo room behind the second-row seats and 63.3 cubic feet with both rows folded down.

The Tundra handles well on the road. The brakes are sensitive, but the steering is very responsive. My test drive had the 5.7-liter V-8 with the off-road package with Bilstein shocks.

Gas mileage with the 5.7-liter (4X4); is 13 City /17 Highway.

Under the hood was the V-8; 381-hp, 5.7-liter engine that, which has a ton of power. The drive train was mated to a smooth, six-speed automatic transmission, which can tow more than 10,000 pounds

The 2013 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab has a very stiff suspension, which gives it a truck ride. It is definitely smaller than a full size pick up and easier to maneuver.

Steering is very responsive, and the ride is good, but the fuel economy is not great. The Tacoma comes with a 236-horsepower V6 engine, which has great acceleration and is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Under the Hood

The V6 engine produces 236 horsepower @ 5,200 rpm
266 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm. The V-6 features Variable Valve Timing. My test drive was 4WD and had an EPA city/highway fuel economy of 16/21 mpg.

Inside

The 2013 Tacoma’s interior has a current urban feel, with 2-tone panels. The Tacoma’s front seats are supportive, and has rear seats in the Access Cab. The Bluetooth was so easy to connect and very useful during my test drive.

The steering is responsive for its weight and size. The suspension gives the Corolla a little body roll in the corners. It’s a great commuter car for use around town, but I wouldn’t want to use as a primary family vehicle.

Driving Impression

The 2014 Mazda CX-9’s V6 has great acceleration for commuter and highway driving. The automatic transmission is smooth shifting and effortless.

The steering lets you have a real feel for the road in the city or on the highway.

The 20-inch wheels on the Grand Touring give the CX-9 give the vehicle a very comfortable ride

Under the Hood

The 2014 Mazda CX-9 has a 3.7-liter V6 engine that produces 273 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a six-speed automatic with manual shift control. The CX-9 can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Inside

The Grand Touring has an upgraded interior, keyless ignition/entry, driver memory functions, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a second-row center armrest with console storage.

My test drive had the Touring Technology package, which included fog lights, a sunroof, a power lift gate, keyless ignition/entry, a navigation system, and a premium 10-speaker Bose surround-sound system and satellite radio.

The CX-9’s dash features a waterfall design that flows into the door panels

The Driver, front passenger and 2^nd row seats has plenty of room, but the headroom in the 3^rd row is tighter.

With its second and third rows folded flat, the CX-9 has 101 cubic feet of cargo space.

The CX-9 has sweeping curves, which gives it a very stylish appearance. The 2014 CX-9 has a notable trapezoidal front grille with integrated fog lights. The rear of the CX-9 has large taillights and large twin exhausts

Driving Impression

The Venza is great vehicle on the road, with excellent ride and a very quiet cabin. The Venza is easy to drive and a great vehicle for hauling the kids or groceries around town

Under the Hood

My test vehicle came equipped with the 3.5-liter V6 engine, which is rated at 268 hp and 246 lb-ft of torque.

The acceleration of the AWD V6 Venza is excellent and can get you 0- 60 mph in just 6.9 seconds. Fuel economy is 21 combined (18 city/25 highway) with AWD.

The towing package on the Venza with the V6 can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Inside

My test drive was a XLE, included the convenience package., which includes keyless ignition/entry, leather upholstery, heated front seats, driver seat memory /four-way power passenger seat, satellite radio/HD radio with iTunes tagging. XLE Premium package had the panoramic sunroof, a larger (6.1-inch) touch screen interface, and a navigation system, traffic updates and a 13-speaker JBL sound system.

The interior is attractive with a well laid out center console that features the gearshift. The center console is enormous with large sized cup holders and smaller bins for other personal effects.

I connected my IPhone to the Venza and I have to say the process was so simple I was amazed. In test-driving a variety of vehicles in the past I have to say the process of pairing your phone on the Venza is the fastest I have ever encountered.

The seats in the Venza are very comfortable and the backseat offers plenty of legroom, The cargo area is amazing with an unbelievable 70 cubic feet with the rear seats folded and a healthy 36.2 cubes with the seats up.

The 2014 Venza styling looks like a wagon vs. a SUV. Toyota designed the vehicle with a “sleek sedan “ look. The 2014 Venza styling has added a new front fascia with a revised grille and restyled fog lamps in addition to new 19-inch wheels and tail lamps.

The Highlander’s steering was responsive, but does not give you a true sense of a feel for the road. Body roll is minimal and power is surprisingly adequate for this vehicle

Under the Hood

The Highlander comes with a 3.5 liter 270 horsepower/248 lb.feet of torque V6 and is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Power is adequate for this vehicle.

EPA rating for the 3.5 liter V6 is 18-city/24 highway. The tow capacity for the Highlander is 5,000 lb.

Inside

The interior uses quality materials and is nicely laid out. The amenities are endless as listed below. Cargo space is endless with 10.3 cubic feet behind all the seats followed by 42.3 cubic feet behind the 2^nd row and a whopping 95.4 cubic behind the front seat.
