2009 Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring AWD

My CX7-Grand Touring AWD was painted Galaxy Gray with a Black leather interior. The MSRP was $34,175.00, which included $650.00 delivery charge.

Driving Experience

The 2009 Mazda CX-7 Grand touring AWD is a pleasure to drive and has sufficient power to go 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds. There is some turbo lag when hitting the gas pedal hard from a stop and during around-town passing maneuvers. But overall the vehicle handles well when making tight turns. Overall the driving experience is good, but the ride has a firm feel. The CX-7 is agile and gives you a feeling of security. The brakes are very responsive in almost all conditions with very little fade.

Safety

Advanced dual front air bags, front side-impact air bags, front and rear air curtains with roll-over protection, 3-point seat belts, ventilated 4-wheel ABS brakes, Dynamic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system and traction control

Inside

The gauges are stylish and are easy to read and at night they have red lighting. There is a center display on the dash that shows audio and climate readouts away from controls. There are steering-wheel controls such as audio, telephone and cruise control. The navigation system is easy to program and the 240 watt Bose 9-speaeker stereo system has a nice sound and the controls were easily accessible. Some of the other amenities are heated front seats, cup holder in each door pocket, 2 cup holders in center consol and rear seat, power windows (auto up-down front windows), lighted vanity mirrors, 60/40 fold down rear seats, telescopic (manual) steering wheel, 8-way power drivers seat, leather wrapped steering automatic climate control, power door locks, lockable center consol/glove box, retractable cargo cover, carpeted mats, two 12 volt outlets/1 aux jack, front seat map pockets, leather steering wheel and gear shift, auto rear view mirror with home link, leather seats, one touch power moon roof and perimeter alarm.

There was plenty of legroom for passengers (seats 5 adults) and the seats are very comfortable.

Outside

Very stylish vehicle with a unique design, that stands out from the crowd. Some of the many features are dual exhaust; scuff plate, remote keyless illuminated entry 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, P23560R18 tires, 2.3 DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder turbo charged drive train that produces 244 HP

Summary

The CX-7 is better than most like-sized SUVs and offers a sports feel and unique styling. The cargo bay has two nice features like a reversible carpeted/plastic rear floor panel, and easy-to-reach releases that make lowering the standard 60/40 rear seatbacks a quick operation (but they don’t fold flat).

CX-7 is in a crowded segment but offers buyers a vehicle roomier than a midsize car and fresh-looking SUV styling.
