The re-designed Legacy is a contender in the midsize sedan category. The Legacy appeals the consumer both for its mileage rating and the standard AWD feature, that all Subaru vehicles feature. The Legacy is sporty and fun to drive and has received substantial improvements inside and out for 2010.

Driving Experience

The Legacy’s 3.6R was impressive from the standpoint of acceleration and driving dynamics. The 2010 Legacy has the capability of transitioning the power to any wheel that needs it. The vehicle grips the road no matter what the condition. The Legacy has speed sensitive steering, which makes the vehicle handle in any road condition.

The Legacy suspension has a dynamic that absorbs most bumps in the road and results in a well-balanced driving experience.

Standard safety equipment on the Legacy includes antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, front seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. Below is a complete list of safety features on the 2010 Legacy.

Under the Hood

My Legacy was equipped with the 3.6R, which uses regular fuel, puts out 256-horsepower and 247 and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.

The drive train gives you excellent acceleration and is capable of handling any road situation.

Inside

The Legacy interior is sleek and sophisticated uses quality materials and has many luxury features, that makes your driving experience a pleasure. One of the nice new features is the electronic parking brake, which eliminates the need for a traditional brake lever (This adds more space to the center console area for new cup holders and a storage bin). The three-spoke sport steering wheel has audio and cruise controls and paddle shifters and 10-way power driver’s and 4-way power passenger’s seats.

The 2010 Legacy Premium interior is spacious, uses high quality dark plastics mixing into brushed metal and walnut trim, power front seats, keyless entry and auto headlights and wipers. The instruments are nicely laid out and easy to read. Rear seat room has been improved markedly and can accommodate three adults comfortably. The back seat also has a pass through opening for skis or longer items. Overall, the interior has a solid fit and finish is spacious and well appointed. The seats are comfortable and hold you in place in any sharp turns you make during your road trips.

Outside

The Legacy has a muscular stance and has a pleasant appearance for a 4-door sedan.

Underneath, the vehicle is equipped with standard all-wheel-drive, MacPherson struts up front and a double-wishbone rear suspension mate up with 17-inch wheels.

Summary

If you’re looking for a four-door family sedan that has AWD, all the safety features, can be driven in any road condition and is fun to drive then check out the all new 2010 Legacy by Subaru.

Comments

Subaru almost hit a home run with the Legacy and I am going to make the following suggestions for 2011:

  1. Refinements in the software for the Bluetooth Wireless Phone Connection
  2. More insulation on the firewall to keep cabin noise at a minimum from the drive train
  3. Auto door locks
  4. Auto up/down front passenger window
