The five-passenger Mitsubishi Galant has a distinctive exterior and a unique interior with premium amenities and advanced safety technologies. The Galant SE is a definite contender in the  mid-size sedan in today’s market.

Driving Experience

The Galant SE was responsive to everyday and road driving and I enjoyed the driving experience during the week I had the vehicle.

Safety

Standard safety features include stability and traction control systems, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and a tire pressure monitor, engine immobilizer along with dual front, front side-impact and overhead curtain airbags.

Under the Hood

The 2010 Galant SE has a 162-horsepower 2.4-liter MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing and Electronic Control System) engine that adjusts itself for optimum performance in different driving conditions.

The power to the front wheels is an INVECS-II 4-speed automatic transmission that allows the system to adjust under different conditions. The transmission shifts between two programs to adjust control, efficiency and power based on the driver’s handling habits. The Galant also has a tiptronic shifter for those who’d rather control the gears themselves.

Inside

My 2010 Galant SE. came equipped with an updated navigation system that had Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) navigation system.  The way they engineered the position of the Navigation system was not the most attractive as it jutted out from the center of the dash. Some of the nice interior touches were the luxury features like an automatic climate control system, automatic retractable rear glass sunshade, rear air vents, a power sunroof, and a Dolby Digital 5.1 DVD/CD/MP3/FM & AM audio system with 12-way speakers, a center speaker, and a ten-inch subwoofer.

The Galant offers the driving comfort with an eight-way, power-adjustable seat with lumbar support, while the front passenger has a four-way counterpart.

Every Galant is now equipped with Active Stability Control (ASC) and an auxiliary audio input jack, while SE trims get upgraded audio (including satellite radio) and a standard navigation system with rear backup camera.

The SE comes with a rear spoiler, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, automatic climate control, a 6-disc CD changer and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

Outside

Some of the 2010 highlights are high intensity discharge (HID) headlamps with user-selectable level adjustment, LED-type turning lamps on the power-folding side mirrors, and new 17-inch, 10-spoke wheels. The Galant SE also gets an all-new chrome grille!

Summary

The Galant enhances the Mitsubishi car line up and shows the future of where they are going with the balance of their line of vehicles.
